Wayne Robert Williams has created a collection of 72 new Quotation Crosswords, never before published. There are quotes by well-known people from Tacitus, Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain to Mae West, Richard Nixon and Albert Einstein.
After passing through high deserts, basalt cliffs, mountains, rivers and Ponderosa pines, drivers can pull off Interstate 84 near Pendleton at a marked "Scenic Viewpoint" to admire the sloping hills that fold down into the forested banks of a creek. Until a few years ago, it was Squaw Creek Overlook. Possibly named by some 19th century trapper describing what he saw, it stuck.
